Born in Trento in 1965, Luca Coser undertook a high-profile training, studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice with the master Emilio Vedova, and then graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, in the Painting course held by Gustavo Giulietti.

His exhibition career began early: he held his first significant group exhibition in 1985, curated by Danilo Eccher, and his first solo exhibition in 1989. Since then he has exhibited in numerous galleries and public spaces in Italy and abroad.

Coser's research unfolds through a constant interplay of layers and fades. He uses personal quotes and cultural references (from cinema to Central European literature) as open fragments. This methodology, which suggests rather than declares, has brought him international attention, particularly in 2021 with a prestigious artistic collaboration with Pierpaolo Piccioli and the Maison Valentino brand. In 2022, his career was the subject of a comprehensive monograph published by the VAF Foundation in collaboration with the MART, edited by Daniela Ferrari.

In addition to his artistic activity, Coser is a tenured professor of Drawing at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and a teacher at the Trentino Art Academy, maintaining a deep connection between his creative practice and teaching.
