Biography

Luca Coser (Trento, 1965) is a contemporary Italian painter whose work develops between figuration and abstraction, exploring the relationship between image, memory, and identity.

After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice with Emilio Vedova and graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he established a practice focused on the stratification of images and narrative ambiguity.

His work is constructed through layering, erasure, and visual fragments that generate suspended images, balanced between presence and disappearance. Cultural references — from literature to cinema — emerge as traces rather than explicit narratives.

At the core of his research lies a reflection on contemporary identity and perception, understood as unstable and evolving conditions. Painting becomes a space of tension between visibility and invisibility, construction and dissolution.

Alongside his artistic practice, Luca Coser teaches Drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, maintaining a strong connection between research and teaching.
