"Le chant de l'aube" is a recent, large-scale painting by Mickaël Doucet, created in 2020 using oil on canvas, measuring 114 x 162 cm. Like his work "Moderato Cantabile", this one also explores the representation of interior spaces and filtered landscapes, typical of his production.
The artist focuses on capturing vibrant color and the effect that natural light, in this case dawn (l'aube), has on objects and surfaces. The composition is characterized by a geometric stylization and a strong emphasis on the decorative power of the forms, which filter and refract the external light.
The work was acquired directly from the artist's studio for the Damiani collection and is archived at the Mickaël Doucet Archives in Paris and the Damiani Gallery Archives in Bari.
