Time, language, and action in conceptual art
“Dati due o più istanti - lavoro” (1972) by Vincenzo Agnetti belongs to the artist’s investigation into the relationship between language, time, and experience. In this phase, the work assumes a conceptual dimension in which the sign becomes a tool for theoretical reflection.
Executed as a composition on cardboard, the work develops a structure that recalls models of logic and mathematical formulation, introducing the term “lavoro” as an element of semantic discontinuity. The result is a construction in which word and concept merge into an open system.
