"La rencontre des amoreaux" is a significant installation by Frédéric Bruly Bouabré, created in 2009. The work is made up of forty-nine elements, each measuring 20 x 12.5 cm, for a total of 140 x 87.5 cm.
The work is part of the artist's series dedicated to brotherhood and friendship between peoples and represents the pinnacle of his visual and conceptual research. Bouabré, known for creating a vast alphabet of pictograms to preserve the Bété culture (Ivory Coast), uses a simple yet profound technique: ballpoint pen, pastels, and colored pencils on cardboard. Each element acts like a page of a universal manuscript, where the artist catalogs the world's knowledge, blending symbols, human figures, and narrative codes with a naïve and instantly recognizable style.
