Light and spatial construction
“Le chant de l’aube” (2020) by Mickaël Doucet belongs to the artist’s investigation into the representation of interiors and filtered landscapes, where light plays a structural role in defining the composition. The work develops a relationship between space, color, and perception.
Executed in oil on canvas, the composition is structured through geometric forms and chromatic fields that organize the image in a balanced way. Light, suggested by the reference to dawn, is translated into tonal variations that modulate the pictorial surface.
The work reflects a suspended dimension in which the environment is reduced to a system of relationships between surfaces and colors. Painting unfolds as an ordered space in which luminosity becomes the generative element of the composition.
